What Should I Know About the Poconos

The Poconos are a convenient getaway from most major northeastern metropolitan areas. The Poconos are about and hour and a half drive from both New York City and Philadelphia. The "Poconos" are a vast area encompassing over 2,500 square miles in northeastern Pennsylvania. The area has major population centers in Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg, Mt. Pocono, and the area extends all the way from the New Jersey border to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area.

Travelers to the Poconos can find almost anything that a vacationer would seek. From rustic, old growth forests to exciting casinos, the Poconos have it all. You can ski and snowboard, tour one of our wineries, shop at factory outlets, cool off at one of America's largest indoor waterparks, or find rejuvenation at one the world's top ten spas.

From fishing to hiking, dining to dancing, romance or family fun, the Poconos can't be beat! I still find myself left speechless on a regular basis as I drive around this amazing natural treasure. This site will relate my honest and unabashed reviews of Pocono-area attractions and dining from a local perspective. Enjoy "Poke"ing around!
